Steel lattice, leftover materials, wooden box, 24 x 29 x 4 cm (9.4 x 11.4 x 1.6 in)
The Topkapi Palace‘s ‘Spoonmaker‘ diamond, which, rumor has it, was once found in the trash, as well as the newly constructed glass and steel tower called ‘The Diamond of Istanbul‘ inspired the multiple.
In this unlimited edition, each box comes with an identical brilliant cut steel lattice accompanied by a unique arrangement of leftover materials collected from small manufacturers in Istanbul.
The multiple was created for the exhibition 'On Produceability' at 5533, Istanbul, organized by Alti Aylik (Istanbul) and Nüans (Düsseldorf).
The show traveled to Kunstvlaai, Amsterdam; Lizabeth Oliveria Gallery, Los Angeles; and Young Talents Biennal, Cologne.
