The work was realized for Open Studios within the Workspace residency at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), New York.
Inspired by contextual as well as formal tensions in the the office - studio relationship, I Prefer To connects Robert Probst’s 'Action Office' with the concepts and ideologies of Perpetual Motion, the art movement ‘Konkrete Kunst,’ and Herman Melville’s fictional character Bartleby - the Scrivener.
