The Inquisitive Stage is an ongoing and transformational agglomeration in my studio(s) over time. As such it forms an ephemeral constellation with an unkown ending. Inspiration for this work came from Andre Breton‘s wall, a complex, cluttered arrangement in his apartment that featured a fraction of his extensive collection of artworks and intriguing objects. But in the case of The Inquisitive Stage, banal, found and raw materials from past and future works take the place of unique, aesthetic, or sentimental possessions.
The evolving bricolage brings assorted scraps of materials–ranging from the bottom of a container of chocolates to a chip from a granite countertop–into shifting conversations with each other.
